We dedicate this page, in loving memory, to our dearly departed Brothers who have laid down the working tools of this life. May they come before the Supreme Architect of the Universe and be welcomed as good men and worthy craftsmen.

Bro. Jean Hart Blain 90, of Florence, formerly of Dry Ridge, died Saturday April 26 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood.

He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II Navy veteran, owner of Blain Hardware in Dry Ridge, member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church, 60 year member and past master of Crittenden-Dry Ridge Lodge 694 F&AM, Dry Ridge Chapter 306 Order of the Eastern Star, Grant County Fair Board, Rural Letter Carrier’s Association, Naval Minewarfare Association, Young at Heart Club, Dry Ridge City Council and a scorekeeper for Dry Ridge High School and Grant County High School basketball games.

His first wife, Helen Bradford Blain, died in 1972; and second wife, Mary Jane Blain, died in 2004.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Gritton and Margaret Blain; sons, Bradford Hart and Richard A. Blain; sister, Jeanette B. Kells; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday April 30 at Eckler-Hudson-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. A second visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday May 1 with service following at Dry Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Bro. Clarence R. Stamper - Passed away on April 17, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. Bro. Clarence was born on September 19, 1923 in Wolfe County, KY. He was a member of the Elliston Baptist Church, a World War II Air Force veteran, a retired printer for H. S. Crocker, Norwood, OH., a member of Crittenden-Dry Ridge Lodge #694 F & AM, a member of Indra Consistory of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner.

Bro. Stamper was preceded in death by his father; John Taulbee Stamper, mother; Ella Edwards Stamper, sister; Reva Landrum and brothers; Chester Stamper, Eugene Stamper, Richard Stamper and Russell Stamper Survivors include his wife; Betty F. Dowell Stamper, daughters; Bonnie Jean Conover and Joann Anglin, brothers; Donald E. Stamper and Clyde Stamper, 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 pm with a Masonic Service to the be held Sunday night at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008, 11:00 am at Eckler-Hudson-McDaniel Funeral Home, with burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.


Bro. Norman Ferguson, 78, of Dry Ridge died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a retired supervisor with Cincinnati Bell and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He served as a deacon of Dry Ridge Baptist Church for over 50 years and also taught Sunday school. He served as mayor of Dry Ridge from 1962 to 1964 and again from 1986 to 1998. He also served on the Dry Ridge City Council in 1962 and again from January 2007 to the present.

He also served on the city's ethics board and board of adjustments after retiring as mayor. Ferguson Boulevard and the Ferguson tennis counts, both in Dry Ridge, were named in his honor. He was a member of the Crittenden-Dry Ridge Lodge No. 694 F&AM, a member of the Grant County Adult Education Committee, a board member of the Spears Foundation and board of directors of Clear Creek. In addition, he served on the selection committee for the Kentucky League of Cities, executive board member of the Crittenden Baptist Association and a member of the Williamstown Kiwanis. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Porter Ferguson; daughters, Debbie F. Meadows of Tampa, Fla., and Linda Gruen of Paint Lick, Ky., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 9 at Dry Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona. Memorials are suggested to the Dry Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 19 Broadway, Dry Ridge, KY 41035. Eckler-Hudson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge handled the arrangements.


Bro. Danny Greenwell

Bro. Danny Greenwell (Fellow Craft Mason) - Passed away on February 29, 2008 as a result of a vehicle accident. Bro. Danny was 47 years old.
